North Country oak dresser

A good North Country oak dresser of architectural form c1750.

This is a particularly fine example:

The rack with bold dentilled cornice; pilasters that open to reveal cupboards; spice drawers.
The base with four more pilasters; arched fielded panel doors and three pairs of bracket feet.
Also finished at the sides with two fielded panels to each end.

The handles are replacements in the correct style.

Provenance: from Roger and Jill Bichard’s lifetime collection formerly at Seend House.
