An attractive pair of French Louis XVI style carved wood panels. Possibly overdoors.
All the detail is in carved wood, not gesso and certainly carried out by a master carver; the fruitwood and birds have good depth but we particularly admire the fluidity of the scrolling foliage of leaves and flowers.
Mid nineteenth century
Both 31" high, one is 51" wide and the other 52.75" wide
