Antique potboard dresser
A late 18th Century South West Wales oak potboard dresser with the attractive feature of silhouette baluster legs.
The frieze and sides of the rack are shaped and there are slots for spoons in one of the shelves; many of the original iron cup hooks still remain.
Excellent colour and patina; original handles.
Richard Bebb illustrates a dresser with flat balusters that he attributes to the Tiefi Valley in South West Wales.
Repairs to the top left hand corner of the cornice (cut out for a low beam) and one of the planks of the potboard shelf has been replaced.
We have had many potboard dressers with turned or square legs but this is the first one we have had with these naive baluster legs.
