
Antique marble bust of Apollo
A spendid 'Grand Tour' white Carrara marble bust of Apollo after Canova with a most interesting choice of marble for his toga: this is a type of brown breccia which is composed of pebbles in a matrix; where the sculptor has carved into the stone the outline of the pebbles can clearly be seen.
Italian, probably second half of the 19th Century
