Antique Jeanselme chairs

A fine set of four Louis Philippe (1830-1848) chairs in rosewood with marquetry inlay, all clearly stamped by JEANSELME.

This stamp was used by the firm from 1840 to 1853; the firm is best noted for being the Fournisseur du Mobilier de la Couronne (Furnisher to the Crown) under Louis Phillippe King of France. Examples of Jeanselme's work can be seen in Fountainbleau and The Palais Royal.
