An attractive Gothic Revival breakfront bookcase in oak in its original honey coloured polish. The upper section with the original opaque and clear glass set into well carved gothic arched glazing bars; the same gothic design used on the applied carving to the lower doors and drawers.

I have only seen a few oak breakfront bookcases of this design over the years. We sold a similar one at Olympia in the early 2000s and underbid a another at Tennants in the same period. My parents bought this bookcase in the 1990s; firstly it was used home, then for reference books in our showroom which has a large gothic window and now its for sale.
